FEMAP?s Hospital de la Familia has been approved as a teaching hospital for both nurses and physicians by the National Ministry of Health. It is the only hospital in Juarez to receive such a designation.

Hospital de la Familia continues to grow. Today, it is the fourth largest hospital in the city of Juarez, delivering 43,000 medical services a month including the delivery of 500 babies. In addition to Juarenses, over 13,000 residents of the United States come across the border from Texas and New Mexico annually to receive care at the hospital. FEMAP attributes its success and sustainability to high quality services, access to those services by providing the lowest cost for all medical services in the city, and productivity. As a result of FEMAP?s work both at the hospital and with their community-based volunteer health educators, promotoras de salud, infant mortality has dropped from 104 per thousand births to 18 per thousand in the past 30 years.
