NOCHE CUBANA -2011 FEMAP Gala a Success! Saturday, October 1st, 2011 -- Because of our generous bi-national community, FEMAP raised $230,000 for much needed programs and services to Cd. Juarez. Impregnated by a vision to provide access to healthcare and education for expectant mothers in our Sister City of Ciudad Juárez, Guadalupe Arizpe de De la Vega founded FEMAP, the Mexican Federation of Private Associations in 1973.
Over the years, FEMAP has given birth to two full-service inpatient hospitals and a nursing school as well as numerous health, economic and social service programs. Nurtured by an army of volunteer health promoters that number over one thousand, FEMAP’s programs are far-reaching and provide high-quality medical care and preventive health education to the poorest and most marginalized individuals in our bi-national community.
Today, our mission has grown to encompass improving the overall quality of life of the individual, the family and society through education, research and service. We consider this to be critical to improving the living conditions of the fast-growing population along the U.S./Mexico border.
On behalf of those we serve, our volunteers, staff and Board of Directors, we thank our bi-national community for their support and love.
